Ive added GPS functionality to my app and now it wont install anymore, i get the error "required application access not granted". I've made keys using makekeys.exe and entered all the data in the signing part of the kunerilite wizzard, it will compile with the keys but still wont install... How do i go about this? Thanks a lot. Im using an n73 btw

Hi Vinnie, welcome to Kuneri Forums!
As far as I remember, you do not need to sign your application unless you use internal GPS. Due N73 doesn't have internal GPS, I suppose you use Bluetooh GPS? Can you try using it without signing?
cheers,
Ugur.-

Hey,
well ive tried without signing, doesnt work, same error. Ive tried compiling without the GPS plugin selected in Kunerilite wizard, then it will install without problem, so it's definately a problem with the GPS plugin.

Thanks Jukka. It helped but unfortunately wasn't the answer i was hoping for .. 2. If you are using free versions of KuneriLite plug-ins, you need to buy Publisher ID from TC TrustCenter. So I understand correctly that i have 2 options: - Buy commercial version of KuneriLite for 99$ - Buy Publisher ID for $200 / year Is this correct? Thanks again

Actually, buying KuneriLite license will not solve the problem. It's only required if you release your application for commercial purpose; which would be needed eventhough you use GPS or not.
TC publisher ID is something that is out of our control, and yes, it costs. But I would recommend first trying creating your own certificate and test it on your device. If you decide to release it later on, you can purchase it.

But how can I do this? According to : http://developer.symbian.com/forum/ann.jspa?annID=45 u can no longer get a developer certificate and open signed is the only way....

Now there is some conflicting information but its because Symbiansigned process has recently changed. Getting/buying KuneriLite non/commercial plugin will allow you to go Open Signed Online. If you try with Basic version, it will complain that plug-in UIDs are not allocated for you(or something similar). When plug-in are built (by us) with UIDs from you, you can. You can verify this by not including any plug-ins from list, and try signing. It should work. When you include, it should fail. EDIT: Use your personal UIDs to all UID fields in Wizard. In Open Signed webpage, choose capabilities: Location NetworkServices ReadUserData WriteUserData (at least) and browse for unsigned version of the generated SIS. And yes, entering those blurry security codes is pain.. Hint: Sign online only once: when you later change your SWF implementation, just copy new SWF into phone, you'll save some time. Cheers, Jukka

And yes, entering those blurry security codes is pain.. Hey Jukka, thanks a lot but im still having problems... When u say "Use your personal UIDs to all UID fields in Wizard" i can see only two, the field UID and the field pkg UID, I entered a UID in both... When i submit the unsigned version to Open Signed it still gives a bunch of errors about UIDs that are not allocated to my account, so I have these questions: - I fill in 2 UID's, one in field UID, one in field pkg UID, is this correct, do i need to enter more, if so where, or do i need to enter a range in either one of the fields? - Do I need to provide a certificate and key file in the wizard? - I am still using the basic version of KuneriLite, were your instructions i quoted for this basic version or did you assume i use the commercial version? Sorry if these questions are noobish i just been trying hard to get this to work and dont want to give up now ... Thanks a lot

You are doing fine, after just filling in both field you can get the SIS out, both unsigned one and signed one. Then you can send unsigned one to symbiansigned.com Open Signed Wep-page and see the results: If you included any plug-in, it will throw an error, but if you use commercial version of plug-in, signing will pass.
Certificate fields in Wizard are usable only if you have bought Publisher Id.
I hope this gives the picture,
cheers, Jukka

OK so to get this finally clear : it is impossible to use the GPS plugin with the basic version of Kunerilite, and therefor i must request the non-commercial here: http://www.kunerilite.net/content/view/48/75/ ? (I asked this in my last post but didnt really understand if you answered this ) If this is correct then that is all I need to know and i will stop trying with the basic version and make the request.
