Thanks Jukka,
finally the signing worked but now i have a new problem  Undecided

With the basic version i was able to compile and run applications without trouble.
Now with the custom plugins i get a "Internet: server not found" error.
I read all the wiki info etc and noticed that on the non commercial version it uses port 2001 instead of 1001 by default, so i went into my flash code and changed the port everywhere, but still i get the internet: server not found error. Also i changed 'basic' with my ID everywhere

This is what i did in wizard:
- no plugins selected (since i figured they come from the loose files now);
- no folder \ files added to project;
- put UIDs, put folder with plugins in KL Path;
- push compile;

then i upped the non signed to open sign online and installed the file after it was signed. It installs fine now but now i get this error..... (Internet: server not found), on all my functions, i didnt get this with the basic version.
What am i doing wrong?

edit: Also with the basic version i could find it on my phone using the nokia phone browser, it would just be in a directory with my project name, with the new non-commercial version i cant find the installed folder and files anywhere on my phone ...  Huh

edit2: i also tried changing the port to 1001 in the kunerilite wizard, but then it will not even compile, it will give me the error "unknown argument given"  Huh Grin

We just checked your version here and that kind of problem didn't occur.
Only difference was certificate and we used GPS tester example.

I see you are not including any plug-in, may I ask why?
There is no KuneriLite running then, you are just using Wizard as SWF packager.

Please include some plug-ins and you can start using them Wink

cheers,
Jukka

Thanks for your quick answers!

Okay to answer the first:

i did not select plugins, because i thought they would bring the wrong UIDs to my app again, and also because i thought they would be included thru the files in KL Path;
Also, when i try to include the plugins by selecting them in the window i get an error while compiling :
Processing.............
Compilation failed! Check your SDK environment and MySIS arguments!

The port problem i didnt have before with basic version, but i never entered a different port there.... this is the first time i tried. If i enter anything at all there i get the error " unknown argument given"

Im thinking maybe i should try the newest version of KuneriLite :S

Yes indeed Smiley
very old version do not even support some plugins.
New plugin versions are always based to newest tool.
Backward compatibility is tried to maintain with old plugins but not vice versa.

Well my phone is now out of battery and i didnt bring my charger Sad
But : i downloaded new kunerilite and can now compile with selecting plugins without error "Compilation failed! Check your SDK environment and MySIS arguments!"  Cool
So that is big improvement. But i dont know if it fixed the server error yet i will try this maybe tonight, or else tomorrow,
Thank you very much, great service, Kuneri rocks!

they don't matter too much for GPS but just in case.

Thanks,

Still working on this.... ive been able to compile and install correctly now with signing. Everything on my app still works except for the GPS... i just dont get any response from it (it stays on klError -99 to which i reset in the beginning).
I know it can take a while but ive waited 10 minutes and nothing happens..

I think this is maybe because my bluetooth GPS device requires a passcode and i dont get a dialog screen to enter any. From the wiki page of the plugin i dont really understand how the behaviour should work. Should there be a dialog to choose a BT GPS device? Can i hard-code an identifier and passcode of the device? Or how does it choose which device to use and such?

Thanks again in advance

Hi Vinnie!
it should list of BT devices, after "klCommand=start" is called. Also if you have internal GPS (N95 for instance), your phone has separate settings (you can disable external GPS). Have you tested if GPS Example Tester application works with your device?

klError should not stay on -99.. When you get response from plug-in it should be <=0 and klEnd eq 1.. Which command are you referring to klCommand=start or status?

Hi there!

Sorry for breaking into your thread, but I suppose my problems are or may be similar.
I also want to use the GPS plugin, but this seems a hard thing to realize.

Question 1: Why is there no GPS SIS file in the wiki?

The GPS swf example file needs to be signed. I stumbled through the wiki and also tried to understand the advices on symbiansigned but meanwhile I gave up. This is so tricky and since English is not my native language I am extra "handicapped".
Question 2: Can you please help me through that signing stuff? How do I get or produce the requested info for: UID, Pkg UID, Certificate, Key file and Password? - Or can you sign the KLGPSTester file for me? I only have to exchange the swf file later then with my one, right?

I feel like seeing the aim but being unable to get there ... it's terrible!  Undecided

Another possibility would be if I send you my flash file and ask you to create a sis file for me including the GPS plugin.

I use KuneriBasic and develop for a Nokia 6110 (Navigator) with Flash Lite 2

Regards,
Christian

Hi Christian!

no problem of asking, we all are confused sometimes and quite "handicapped" in front of those "almighty" Symbian processes Wink
Our wiki documentation is far from perfect, but we'll improve it soon.

So far, it seems that you cannot sign your application without costs, because
a) Kuneri's UID is used in GPS plug-in (cannot help with that)
b) Because reason a) you need Publisher ID

Maybe we can have some more options here, we'll think about it.

cheers,
Jukka

Hi Jukka,

thanks for the fast response!
$200 for the Publisher ID is definitly to much to go further in this gps plugin test. Is there another possiblilty? Can't you "sis" my swf file?

Since this is only for study purpose it would be OK for me simply to use the swf file, but then the plugin is not working (of course).  Sad
