There is a lot of information in the Wiki and there is a thread: GPS plugin and signing started by Vinnie last May but I am still confused on what the correct workflow is ( Huh sorry! I must be slow).
I want to study GPS possibility's using KuneriLite and I have a number of questions:

It is impossible to test with a GPS plug-in with Kuneri Lite Basic

unless

 I buy a Publisher ID for $200 / year

or

I make a request for a non-commercial version of Kuneri Lite

(1)   Is this correct?

Now I don't want to spent $ 200 before I have a single test running?
So I turn to the second option for now. When I go to the requestform for a non-commercial version I need to upload my application.

(2)    Is this application a .swf file or must it be a .sis file?

(3)    and when it must be a .sis file how must I make this?

The wizard asks for:
UID* ?
Pkg UID* ?
In KL wizard certificate/keyfile/password all state *needed*!

(4) How can I take care of (3) if haven't take care of (1) yet? Is it a catch 22?

(5) Basically I'm asking: How can I test and play with FlashLite + KuneriLite + GPS on my phone (IMEI) using the examples on the wiki as a starting point? I'm happy  Grin to spent money but only after I have some tests running!

Thanks!

Hi,

you've found the correct workflow and plug-ins are on the way Wink

I know request process might be frustrating, especially for just to test GPS,
basically we need just information for the plug-in and identify developer.

You can also install free KuneriLite GPS tester and replace application swf with your own (it is located in \data\others\trusted\KLGpsTester) for creating prototypes.

Thanks Jukka,

Good to know I'm on the right track!
I just received the zip file in answer to the request for a non-commercial version. This answers question  number 2 (the application to upload is a .swf) and all others as well!

Now I going to study on what to do with the stuff you just sent me...

Thanks again!

Sorry to say but I'm stuck again..

KL-wizard says:
Check your SDK enviroment and MySIS arguments!

What I did in KL wizard:
1st tab: Project name and GPS plug-in
2nd tab: nothing
3td tab:
Main swf: browsed to the .swf file
KL Path: browsed to rsc folder
UID: empty
PKG UID: empty
Certificate/keyfile/password : *needed*!

Do I need to fill in the UID & PKG UID? If yes, with what?

This is the content of the rsc-folder KL has sent me:

default.svg
gps.set
kl.da0
kl.da1
klfw.set
MySISBase.pkg

Is there a UID and/or PKG UId somewhere in there?

BTW. I'm running windows xp

Sorry, but I need to confirm this Smiley

I am sure plug-in version is 0.9.7.1, but
how is this: Wizard main screen ->About KuneriLite.
Is 0.9.7 shown or above ?

Wizard version for 0.9.7.1 is not yet published..
(0.9.7 will do fine)

In about KuneriLite wizard I see no number. It says copyright 2007 Kuneri All rights reserverd. Etc

The other number was shown while creating  a .sis and was shown in command line (when i just tried again it was 0.9.6.2). Sorry, if I had the wrong one...

I just installed KL 0.9.7
Test your setup = succesfull

Filled in: main swf and KL Path

Preparing package = failed (didn't start command line)

Perhaps I should start from the beginning again. I'm not really sure I'm using the right files...

Sorry for all the extra work & thanks for all your help!

Empty wizard text-fields cause problems in 0.9.7.

I think its better wait for next week until new Wizard version is available..but please do some cleanup of files perhaps first:)

I have a problem during testing my app on the phone.

I use http://127.0.0.1:1001/Basic/ address, and if i test the app I recieve 'Server not found' error on the phone.

Some other information:
- For creating SIS I replace KuneriLiteTest.swf
- The same problem if i want to test  the original KLGpsTester.swf
- The sis compailing runs correctly
- I use Kuneri version 0.9.7.1

Hi,

your approach seem to be bit wrong. You can not just pack GPS app with KuneriLite (without license), because required certification process for Symbian GPS applications.

But for quick testing in your own phone, you can simply install original KLGpsTester.SIS and after installation replace \data\others\trusted\KLGpsTester\KLGpsTester.swf with your customized KLGpsTester.swf.

Other options are 1. purchasing KL license or 2. request non-commercial professional KL license for your ready non-commercial application, then
following symbiansigning procedure for creating the final working SIS-file.

I hope this clarifies even little of the mess Smiley you can find more information from wiki.kunerilite.net and symbiansigned.com

As I know with free version I can not create working GPS sis.
What is the current process to request/create non commercial GPS application, which I can deploy as single sis?
If you need I can provide more information about our non-commercial project. Feel free to ask in email!

Thank you!
