Hi C00L,

I receive "File corrupted" on a trying to start .SIS in S60 3rd edition SDK's simulator.. Any ideas, please?

As an additional info: tests and compilation without errors..

Thanks in advance,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Couldn't get your problem really. Why are you trying to install SIS file to emulator?

Ugur.-

Hi,
KuneriLite generates SIS installable only in phone,
there is no compilation for emulator. Thats why emulator complains.

oh, I see.. Thanks.

Just a related question - how can I be sure, the created application does not spoil the phone without of testing in simulator? ... unfortunately, I have the negative experience there. :/  May be any other ways exist to test KuneriLite application without of installation? ... with a direct putting files in the phone's file system?

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry, no way to test the installation otherwise than installing the SIS in phone.
We use basic S60 SIS installation method and it should not corrupt the phone in normal conditions.

In Basic release I know a problem with Simple Protection. If app was exceptionally closed(phone crash/reboot), protected file might be locked and it had to be manualy removed.
It is fixed in Professional and Commercial release of KL, but in Basic release it still exist. You should avoid choosing "Protect" in list of Plug-ins in KL Basic. We will add the fix in Basic release later with new plug-ins.

Except this one Protect plug-in problem in Basic version, I've been positive with KL behaviour. May I ask, which negative kind of experience did you have with installation?

Thanks once again!

About a negative experience - this isn't related to installation but to start of a compiled application in the phone. During the development of the native BREW proxy server, like KuneriLite for S60, we've "lost" 3 phones because of the boo-boo in the code. That has invoked an uncontrollable, endless loop of reboots the phones on the launch. A few system files were deleted in one more phone because of man-made fault. So, I prefer to check application in simulator before installation in the phone. ... especially if this your own N95 or E90 Smiley
